Meet Sannie
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sannie Ty migrated to New Zealand in 1984 and promptly fell in love with the beautiful scenery of the country. While juggling her business in the travel industry and family duties, Ty still found the time to attend painting classes at her local community once a week. In 1993, under the able tutelage of celebrated master artist; Ben Ho, Ty honed her talent for painting!
Having joined numerous location-based painting trips in Italy, Spain, and Australia, Ty has harnessed styles and techniques of International Artists such as Robert Wade, Greg Allen, Alvaro Castagnet, and Tom Lynch. In 2008, the artist was awarded third place at the Royal Easter Show Art Exhibition. At present, Ty practices in Auckland, painting with various media such as oils and acrylics. Works from the artist has gained attention amongst art collectors from the United States, Canada, and the Philippines. Ty aims to exhibit more to acquire greater international recognition in the near future.
